After her husband's death, widow Barb sets out to fulfill his last request to have his ashes scattered in Lake Hilda in northern Minnesota, where the two had their first date.

Hit by a blizzard, she gets lost among backroads near the lake and stops for help at a remote cabin in the woods. Here she discovers a young woman has been kidnapped by a desperate couple who are armed and intent on murder. Hours from the nearest town and with no phone service, this unlikely hero realises she is the woman's only hope of survival.
